Well, it definitely felt like it when I stayed at the Evolve Back Resort by Orange County in Coorg!
My luxury stay in Coorg begins!
I arrived at the resort around 1.30 pm and checked myself in. The staff was very welcoming and greeted all the guests in a grand style. A band started to play every time a guest entered the resort and they welcome you with a nice toffee coffee. Since the resort is huge and spread over a vast space they have golf carts to escort you from the reception to the respective villas. We drove to the heritage pool villa I was going to stay in and got a glimpse of the beautiful surroundings that I would be enjoying for the next 24 hours. There are trees covering the small paved road which lead you to the villas, restaurants and recreation centres.

After freshening up in my room, I decided to explore the resort. I walked from my villa towards the side where all the restaurants were marked on the map given to me by the customer service staff. Walking on the paved road, every now and then I saw the other guests and the staff of the resort who greeted everyone with a “Namaste” and a wide smile. I had lunch at The Granary, which had a wide range of items to select from. I had a hearty meal of chicken and rice and ended it with a chocolate dessert.
A Luxurious Getaway in Coorg
Post lunch I started strolling around the resort. They have a reading place, a souvenir shop, a recreation centre (games like carrom etc.), a swing between two big trees (giving a very jungle-like feel), and a café in a treehouse called Machan. In the evening, I enjoyed a nice performance by the local artists.
Tired from the day’s activities and the journey I decided to retire a little early. Post my dinner, I went back to my villa. The villa had a private pool and Jacuzzi which was bliss after a tiring day. I enjoyed watching the stars in the night lying on the recliners on the deck.
Bird watching session at Evolve Back Resort
Next morning, I woke up early to see the sunrise and go for the bird watching session that the resort arranges as they have many different species of birds on the resort itself. If you are a fauna lover and admirer then it should be on your list to get up early morning for this session. They also arrange for a boat ride in the Cauvery Waters.
The prices of the villas are on the high side but it includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and high tea. It is definitely worth a visit if you are going with family, friends or even alone. As it is situated quite far away from the main parts of Coorg, one might think that it will cut you off from everywhere else, but, there is so much to do in the resort that if you are looking for just a relaxing break and a luxury stay in Coorg to kick back at then all you need to do is pack your bags and reach Evolve Back Resort!
